Jets Interview Harbaugh?

The New York Post, citing a report from National Football Post, notes that the Jets interviewed Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh on Thursday. Harbaugh has been at Stanford for two seasons, compiling a 9-15 record.

Stanford AD Bob Bowlsby said that when they met yesterday, Harbaugh “did not mention it,” per the SF Chronicle.

McDaniels The Favorite In Denver?

Denver COO Joe Ellis spent over five hours in Massachusetts on Thursday night, conducting a second interview with Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, per Adam Schefter, who concludes that McDaniels remains the favorite to take over the Broncos head coaching gig.

McDaniels is credited with working wonders with first year starter Matt Cassel, and Denver’s brass must be salivating at what he could do with Jay Cutler. Meanwhile, in New England, Schefter notes the growing concern within the organization of losing their offensive coordinator.

The Boston Herald also reported yesterday that McDaniels was the favorite to land the Denver job, though PFT took issue with that report, accusing the Herald of “speculating under the guise of reporting.”

Chiefs Keeping GM Search Under Wraps

Adam Shefter notes how secretive Kansas City has been in its search for a new General Manager.

Per Schefter, the Chiefs have interviewed at least six candidates, yet the only known names are Scott Pioli, Ted Sundquist, Floyd Reese and Marty Schottenheimer. The Chiefs have their sights set primarily on Pioli, says Schefter, and are willing to wait him out.

Yesterday, PFT reported that the Chiefs will wait at least until after this weekend’s games to announce their decision. Adam Teicher of the KC Star also looked at the situation, debunking some of the rumors making their way around the league.

49ers Interview Chudzinski

Browns’ offensive coordinator Rod Chudzinski is interviewing for the same position with San Fransico, per the AP.

Chudzinski, who’s been with Cleveland in the same capacity the past two seasons, got an extension last year, but new coach Eric Mangini isn’t expected to keep him on his staff. Cleveland ranked 30th in offensive efficiency last season, per Football Outsiders.

Former Rams’ coach Scott Linehan and Colts’ WR coach Clyde Christensen interviewed for the SF job on Friday.
